A Power Forward who actually weighs more than 220 pounds..sign me up.

Hopefully his brush-in with the law is just an old chapter.

If I had my druthers, I'd probably prefer taking Simon to sit, and Livingston and Kostas to play. adds one more soph in Simon after sitting out, and bring in a senior and a freshman.   we could use a kid like Livingston next season who can really impact, losing Ali and Jones.

Yep, I think this is the ideal situation. Looking through Livingston's game log and finding some videos on YouTube I think he would be a huge get for next year. We have a couple of raw bigs in Yakwe and Sima (I don't know anything about Owens) and Livingston seems to be a much more polished player with  good touch around the rim and can play with his back to the basket, which is something Sima and Yakwe have struggled. Livingston would be huge

Per Zach ( and Paultz) we are officially on the anthony livingston watch now. Outside of the cop punching incident- this is just the kids of player size, rebounding and scoring wise this team needs. Immediately eligible also.

And for those pining for a 5-star player, Justin Simon out of Arizona was a 5 star player out of Hs ans has 3 years eligibility.  Sounds like a great pickup to me, if we can land him.

I'm a big fan of Justin.

Do you think Livingston would be a good fit for the team?  He's 6'9", bald and a lefty, so I suppose zendon will be able to teach him some tricks

Punching a cop should disqualify this kid from our recruiting efforts.

FWIW, the charges still appear to be pending as per an on line Arkansas court database.  See below link.  Charges include a class D Felony and 3 misdemeanors.  Last court entry indicates that a hearing or some next step (not sure of what procedures Arkansas law provides for) is scheduled for June 3rd.

I can't imagine, after doing their due diligence, that the staff will proceed with this recruitment unless he cops a plea soon and only gets probation, which given the charges seems unlikely.

If Matt, Slice and Co. were to pickup Simon it'll really be a huge indicator of where things are going. Granted he prepped at Brewster, but this kid is a 5 star California bred, Pac 10 type player. If they were to land a player of his caliber and relocate him to the Northeast, they'd really be flexing their muscle and it'll be a huge sign of things to come with this program on a national scale. Sitting him for a year while Ellison continues to develop could form a rock solid depth chart at SG come 2017-18.

With the current transfer list, I'd like them to look at Kory Holden (Delaware) and Terrell Allen (Drexel) as well, but PG seems to be an afterthought. Both heady, tough Northeast lead guards.

Hear Seton Hall is all over Holden.

it's a punch, even if he did it, I don't think punching someone disqualifies you from enrolling at st. john's and playing basketball.  especially if he can rebound the ball and score.  I don't know about arkansas, but in NY you  don't get jail time for punching someone one time.  does anyone know if the victim was injured?  this definitely warrants further diligence by the coaches, but hopefully it was an isolated incident and he's a decent kid

Just to be clear he punched a cop, that is serious. That is way different then a disagreement between friends or something. Also in NY you can 100% go to jail for punching someone.

I want to be clear in that i know nothing about the kid and am not passing judgement. I will trust the coaches on this one but just had to point that out.

Paultzman - Thanks for the updates

Any other names and is the freak brother going to visit soon

How come they aren't going after the guard from Delaware and if Pitino interested in Simon the chances are not very good in getting him
