Would’ve liked y’all to get another big but really solid pickup, ultimately could be the third scorer if he gets his release which is very likely.

I see that he put up over 15 a game at St.Francis, but all that should matter is how many stars some fan gave him 4 years ago.

Alpha Bangura put up 18.0 and 5.5 as a freshman in the same league and did nothing here. Mikey Dixon put up 16.5 and did nothing here last season. Both guys had a year to sit out and learn at St. John’s. Why is Dunn any different?

With that written, I liked Dunn a lot out of high school and thought he was an A-10 talent and way too good for St. Francis.

It’s more to do with coaching philosophy and how a coach plans to use the players skill set that can make a difference. Coach is building this team defense first. Dunn provides that from what I have read. He also looks to score from driving the ball to the basket. That can create scoring opportunities for himself and others.

If you read the rest of my post you will see I was a big fan of Dunn out of high school. I don’t have a problem with this addition, but we can’t survive long term without major recruiting victories. That is what I’m most concerned about.

I’m much more interested in how Anderson and his staff develops players. If he can take a couple of these projects and make them better, recruiting will be much easier.

I have heard that since he was transferring to Cleveland st. And his new coach was leaving, he would likely get a waiver.
If coach Mullins would have recruited a player like Dunn. I wouldn’t have been happy. Not looking for another Alpha or Dixon. I have faith in our new coach. But I don’t like this move.

I am hoping some of these "scab" players will be transferring once we get good recruits after a solid season. People are bound to be out, not enough minutes to go around. Depth purposes only considering Anderson had so little time.

I thought Coach Third Choice's system involved going 10 deep? So how are there going to be not enough minutes to go around? In fact one of the complaints I read from Arkansas fans was that by distributing minutes the way he did CTC benefited his end of rotation guys at the expense of his better players. Which stats bear out: over the last four years (which was as far as I CBA to look) only five players played > than 30 minutes a game versus 37 who played > 10 minutes.

If we do not have Heron, LJ and Steere for most of the minutes we are bound to have problems. The talent drop off is substantial after the returners/newly activated transfers. Greg Williams also should be getting more burn then any of the scabs.
