I've said before you could see that him and d'angelo used to bump heads often on the court. But I'm still speechless, somebody start a board lets talk some possible 2012 recruits.

On bright side more shots for moe, more touches for gift less turnovers for the johnnies and another ship for Lav to put to use once he gets back.Say what you wanna but If there's one thing Lav can do is recruit, granted this looks terrible for our university but if there's one person who can talk his way out of this to recruits its lavin. I expect a full roster filled with depth and promise fall of 2012. This is in no way implied as a "give up" on this season, let's all stay optimistic but still realistic.

He didn't fit our system anyway good riddance , he plays like AI without the jump shot. And his body language was terrible when things went south, simply put he is not a fighter! He would stay right in the corners & play no aggressive.

He played solid D though that will be missed!
Attack basketball, pressure defense, 40 minutes of hell ... Early on it might be 30 minutes of hell, then 10 minutes of what the hell are you doing?"

They need some good news ASAP on the recruiting front.

I hope this makes the team better because Lindsey was a headcase.  Period.

He quit, that's it.  I'm sure he was pissed that Phil Greene was getting "his" minutes but you know what?  Phil Greene was better and Nuri was stinking up the joint.  Don't need guys like him around.  We need Lavin back and healthy to fix the 2012 recruiting class BIG TIME.

Totally agree about next years class.  We need Lavin to turn on his charm BIG TIME, as you said.  We need numbers and talent for next year.   And we need to be certain they'll suit up.

I mean, I'm pretty sure most of the recruits we got for this year committed way before the team made their run. If I'm not mistaken.

Correct.  Greene committed in January after a big win. Forgot which one.  Gift committed in the spring but was a certainty for STJ the entire season.

Good point.

Lav got the likes of Moe, D'angelo, and Dom to sign with us before last year's team had any success, or he had even coached a game for that matter.
Let's hope he can find some of that magic on the recruiting trail again.

It was pretty depressing when this news first broke, not because Nuri was such an integral part of the team (he was, but he wasn't ya know), but just because it was more bad news in a fall/winter that seems to be filled with it for Redmen fans.

But now I'm thinking ....  if there's one thing we know about coach Lavin it is that he can recruit.  He did it at UCLA to the tune of #1 classes and McD AAs galore, and before ever coaching a game here he had recruits looking at us who never would have taken our phone call in the Norm era.
I STRONGLY believe that between the JUCO ranks, foreign players, our ineligibles at Prep, transfers, and all the HS players that are still unsigned... somewhere from that huge pool of talent Lavin can get us a class of 4-5 guys to balance out the roster and improve our weaknesses.

I told u guys that this would happen....but yeah, lavin and company can do no wrong  :2funny:

we are a mess!!!

Obviously you don't like Lavin and co.  May i ask who you were hoping they bring in after Norm was fired?   Did you hate this staff last year also?

This particular event says more about Nuri than it does about the staff IMO.  I'll wait till the details are out before I start killing anyone though.

who said i didnt like the lavin hire?  I thought it was a good hire....but it's hilarious how everyone continues to throw kudos at the guy/staff and can never admit that they have done a bad job so far this season.

Our program is an embarassment right now...and id bet nuri isn't the last guy to transfer.  And ill ask again, who do we have for next season coming in?
It is your opinion they've done a "bad job" so far this season.  "Bad job" and having growing pains with a young team are two entirely different opinions.  If you feel they've done a bad job, you should at least support it with some compelling reasons for your opinion.

Dude, are you serious?  Lavin has had three kids academically ineligble and now has had two kids transfer in Polee and Nuri...is there any more explanation needed on why Lavin and company have done a bad job this season?

If he hit's those two FT's at the garden and is mobbed on the court as a hero then he's still here, right?

Polee and Nuri had some things in common. Big ambition, poor work ethic, and weak resolve.

These things happen but its magnified when 95% of your team is new and your in the center of the media world. Lavin has has little to no tolerance for bad seeds. As Jay-Z would say on to the next one..

No one needs to say who they are. You can post anonymously and please if you're looking for something you can ask in a civil way.

To translate for you he's saying he doesn't wish ill onto Nuri but he obviously wasn't doing well here. It wasn't good for him or the team so...addition by subtraction. Move on.

If we had a 12 or 13 man roster I would be happy Nuri left but for this year we were already shorthanded. But since we have no control over Nuri"s actions-good riddance don't let the door hit you on the way out. Confident staff can replace him with a better player and stronger person.

Nuri to Iona

He'd be the 5th guard off the bench, maybe
