In 9 games Lindsey shot over 50% 4 times.
In 16 games Harrison has shot over 50% 5 times.
In 16 games Greene has shot over 50% 3 times.

I can't beleive your again taking shots at Harrison and advocating that we should be upset Nuri isn't around.

Plenty of ways to skin this cat.

Harrison on average attempts 3 more shots a game.

How many shots did Nuri take from outside of point blank range?  Not many and the ones he did build another co-op in co-op city.

First of all, when he was here you were a fan of Lindsey. I know this becuse it was one of the few things I agreed with you on. Secondly when he was playing well no one cared about his jumper including you. Remember the Rondo comparison? Who by the way still can't shoot. One of the reasons I enjoyed Lindsey, was his game was unique. Who cares how many jumpers he took/  made?

I am bringing up Harrison to show that a guy who supposedly can shoot is shooting way worse. Again I like Harrison. I just don't think he is a great shooter. That seems to be some sort of crime here. I have nothing against Phil Greene. I just don't think he is any good. I believe if he keeps up his current % he will have the worst shooting % of any player that ever started at least half his games in a season for SJU.

I was a fan of Nuri because I figured the staff could mold him around his strengths like they did in a very short time last year with the Seniors.  He got into the lane with ease.  That excited me because of the possibilities of all those FT's.  Too bad he couldnt shoot from there either.  He got out of Dodge first sign of trouble however.  I am baffled how he got that far when really he couldn't shoot a lick.  If your going to put out numbers that are skewed be prepared to deal with the responses.  He didn't take many jumpers.  You could see it when he got the ball shooting it from beyond the paint was a last resort for him.

As for Harrison your pointing out the pimple on a supermodel like I mentioned before.  He is our #1 option very much like last year in HS.  Problem is the competition is light years better, so his percentages are suffering a bit.  He drilled those two 3's vs. Marquette from another state.  And he did it with all the confidence in the world.  When the other pieces to the puzzle click are the nights your going to see Harrison with better %'s.  Because when Moe is bringing it then it opens up Harrison a bit. Same with Gift, and hopefully with a 4th option later this season.

As for Greene I'm not commenting.  I'm on record on Redmen where I argued someone who wanted Greene over Nuri.  That being said I think Greene will be fine over his STJ career.

I say he wins a National Championship with Arkansas scores 22 pts with 6 ast 7 boards and 5 steals. After the game he hangs out with Bill Clinton and  bangs Chelsea Clinton. Gets drafted by the 76ers in the 1st round and everyone on these boards starts posting revisionist history about how much they liked him.

MJ that was my point. Even with having no outside shot the "selfish", every other name he has been called guy shot way better than the two guys everyone is creaming over. I get Harrison, Greene......
It still amazes me that the kid is getting the brunt of everything when from all the accounts the staff who RECRUITED him was by all reports ok with his transfer. Then despite what all the basketball geniuses on the boards predicted he shows up at a more successful program. I think after only 11 games the staff needs to take a hit. I don't remember reading anywhere about Nuri being the conductor of a train on a skank, holding up a liquor store or beating up a swimmer. I would have liked to see things at least tried to be worked out. Kid went from our best player to a pariah in like 3 games. Nuri had faults but had a really unique talent and I would have liked to see things shake out. Sure as hell would beat watching evryones favorite Phil Lawerece, I mean Greene.

I was hoping he could settle down and find a better balance to his game.  Although, he didn't hit any 3 pointers, he seemed to be able to hit the 10-12 footer.  I didn't like how he left his shorthanded teammates in a bind, but I didn't think his game was as bad, as some folks are making it.  I thought he was a pretty decent player during his short stint at St. John's.

Hey there is no room on this topic for a fair and rational post.

He hit one at Detroit from the corner a step or two inside the 3 line.

And he hit a turnaround J to end a half at Carnesecca.

Lindsey from downtown: 0-15

That's not a typo.

Jump shots, he was 1-3.
So, a huge improvement there.

My mistake. He was 2-4.

In 9 games Lindsey shot over 50% 4 times.
In 16 games Harrison has shot over 50% 5 times.
In 16 games Greene has shot over 50% 3 times.

That puts Harrison right on par with the following STJ legends in their first year :

Dwight Hardy shot over 50% 8 out of 29 games
Larry Wright 10 out of 31 games

And on pace to shatter Avery (3 point record holder) Patterson who only had 5 out of 31 in which he shot 50%

When you're a kid from New York and you do it in New York, that lasts forever!

You mean Shmedium Moose?  Liny's been MIA on the board.  I haven't laughed that hard since.
