Please stop responding to Lapchick1.  It serves no purpose.

Agree arguing with an idiot just makes all us look like idiots just ignore him and hopefully he goes away

"idiot"?  Have I called anyone an idiot?  Yet you want to ban me!  INCREDIBLE!  What nerve!  Anybody who roots for St. John's who attempts to discuss the continous unwanted results in a realtic manner gets banned.  Another words, lie and spin and you'll be aqccepted.  However, how does that become part of the solution when doing that hasn't solved a thing in 20 years now?

The same posters defended Norm Roberts too.  I'll say this about Lavin THAT IS POSITIVE.  Lavin is a much better recruiter than Norm Roberts and Lavin is a very good recruiter.  However, Lavin has run into some early difficulty keeping players that he's recruited for various reason already discussed.

I dont know you personally so I shouldn't of called you that. You may be the nicest guy in the world so I apologize. How ever when comes to basketball you dont have a clue at all and thats just being real. When I hear you saying Lavin aint gonna last long or should be on the hot seat that just shows me how little you know about basketball, the big east and this program.

What's our record this season?

What has record been year after year for the past 20 years?

Now I ask you, what are you defending?  What have we been so successful at?  If 16 or so of the past 20 years have been almost in the league finishes than there is going to be some criticisim in return.

"You don't get by on mediocrity in sports.  In sports you have to be a winner".
Again this is where you are out of your f'ing mind.

Lavin is the coach. Doesn't matter what happened here the last 20 years. The school finally made a commitment to winning.

Lavin is a winner. Period. Has the results to back it up. He got f'ing cancer.

You have no clue how the business world works. Lavin is the CEO now. We have 2 players on the team ( In Lavin's 1st full recruiting class ) who are 2 of our all time best freshman.

Tick Tock

Lavin is obviously not responsible for the last 19 or so years YES your right.  However, there has been a losing culture here at St. John's now for decades and we're losing again so until that changes that culture still exists.  Now that doesn't mean that it will CONTINUE to exist, because Lavin has the ability to change it.  We'll see, but I'm very concerned right now.  Lets see how well Lavin finishes with recruiting this current class for starters.  I'll tell you right now, if we lose this guy and that guy and setlle on a few other Plan-B and Plan-C choices THAT NONE OF THE OTHER FORMIDABLE SCHOOLS WANTED (that's what happened too often with Norm Roberts except his were PLAN-D and Plan-E guys instead), than I'm not going to spin it going forward into next season.  I'm not going to come on this board if that becomes the case and start bragging about our chances.  EX:  Who do we replace Pelle, Arkansas transfer, Gathers & Sampson etc. etc. with?  Do we HOLD ON to our best undereclassmen at least 3 years?

Yo stop #$%^ing arguing with him Jesus Christ. This shit is a waste of my time reading. Anyway we need to get more out of Dom next week. I want him guarding jj or ashton

Dead on.  I'd like to see Dom on Gibbs.  Gibbs doesn't have the athletic ability to shake Dom enough to get off a comfortable shot.  Dom would give him fits.  Garrett on JJ would be a good matchup.

Everyone expects Pitt to walk all over us, but this will be a very different game.   I expect our guys to punch Pitt right in the mouth and will be fighting on the boards for sure.  I think we jump out to a double-digit lead early...and hopefully the youngins will hang on.

Our players have too much pride to let them walk all over us again. It will be a fight, I think it will be close either way

Goodnight all.  Unfortunate they couldn't pull it out.  Have fun ripping on Lapchick1.  His mom makes him turn off the computer at midnight.

How many thousands of times have we read the above in the last 20 years?  "Unfortunately we couldn't pull it out"...

When does it ever stop?  When is enough enough already to you?  Do you see a pattern here that isn't good?  I certainly do.

Congrats on this post.  It was your first post where you didn't go back and edit it.

*EDIT Too bad he didn't get to see my congratulatory words :)

While I disagreed with Lapchick1 this is the same kind of stuff that occurred when everyone was rah rah about Norm Roberts.  This time most of these rm.com'ers won't look foolish since Lavin is a good coach, but keep in mind many of these homers that put down others and their opinions were celebrating the failure of Roberts.

Has nothing to do with who's the coach but the continued rants that disrupted every thread he posted in. You're the only person who ever has an issue when someone gets the boot. I have no patience for people who come in here just to cause trouble. Everything always gets better when the bad apples are removed from the tree thats not coincidence

And the best thing is Lapchick65 can keep his screen name now without me mistaking him for the other guy.

Differing opinions are great but if someone can't see how the guy that just got banned offered nothing I just ask the simple question why didn't he post during the game ?

He waits till the game is over then comes on ranting.

Like Moose just said I think Dave has been very fair with bannings ( some seem to forget that when he got rid of IllWIll he got rid of class of 72 also who he himself admits he deserved it ).

Dave's done a great job keeping on top of the nonsense lately on both sides of the arguments. His site his rules. That simple

What had he done differently than what has been done the past few years? Posters have been complaining about the players, staff, the AD, a priest and where the program is going since ii can't remember.
