Cinci Game

He got poked in the eye during practice and his vision was blurry.  I'm sure they were being cautious because of his recent laser eye surgery.

Damn, I guess we aren't going to hear from "Linda" for awhile . . .

Real fans who know the truth only post under these conditions:

1) Overtly negative posts about your "favorite program" one after another because that is how you tell the truth

2) Post only after a loss and pretend you care and

3) Introduce yourself under multiple handles to really show who tells the

And that's why I a true fan of the program as I lauded the victory. Perhaps you errrrr gentlemen need glasses.

Every single one of us would have signed up for a 1-1 road trip to start Big East play.

Not rocket science y'all. Just look at Coach's histry. The only thing consistent about Lav's teams is that they are wildy inconsistent.

One day Earl Watson, Dan Gazuric and Jason Kapono look like they dont know if the ball is full of air or feathers. Next day, they knockin off No. 1 on the road.

Figured Cincy was as good as shot since they is much the same as us.

The not so good.....

1.  Green at the point at the end of the game made some poor decisions
2. Lavin going into the delay offense with 6 minutes to go almost cost us the game.  Cinci was playing poorly, yet we slowed down the game and put them back in it.

The lucky.......
1. Harrison's prayer from the bleechers, bailed out Lavins stall offense and basically won the game.
2. Cinci player's miss on a wide open foul line jump shot with 5 seconds to go

All in all a great gut check win.  Not the prettiest but it shows that these kids are capable of playing harder then they have been and rebounding  better then they have shown.

I don't think Lavin tried to stall.  I just think the kids stalled a bit and lost a little energy.  I believe the stat was given during the game though that Lavin is something like 150-10 record in games with a late lead. 151 now.  While some might not put credence into the stats, those numbers are pretty convincing, so maybe the outcome isnt all in spite of the gameplan.

That's a truly incredible stat, and one you don't achieve by accident. 

It feels great to pull out a win on the road like that.
I just think its important we as fans keep things in balance.   The win doesnt cover up our warts entirely; all the things we thought needed work after Nova, probably still do need practicing.   But at the same time, this team isn't as bad as the USF loss, and is improving.   
Really good win, and great effort by the guys.   Execution? Eh, but that's a discussion for another day.  Today we should just enjoy beating a good ranked team.
