Maybe you should take a look and see how unprepared we are. This staff is not only inexperienced, they are completely inept.
How exactly are you determining the team is unprepared? Are you at their practices? Are you at their film sessions? When we came out last year and spanked a final four Syracuse team did we look unprepared? Where you saying the staff is inept? It looked like Mullin out coached a hall of fame coach. Coaching isn't rocket science. At the end of the day the players need to execute the plan and put the ball through the net. When they do, the staff is genius, when they don't, their inept. Teams win with talent. A top ten recruit went to Kansas last year over us and couldn't get off the bench. Why? because they had better players on the team than him. He would have been the best player on our roster. It's about talent, and this team lacks it, even against so called "lesser programs".
We spanked Syracuse last year. They were missing their HEAD COACH! I imagine it will be much different this time. If we win this week, Coach Mullin will get and deserve all the respect and credit. He will get it from me at least.
Unprepared isn't the right word. The style we play cant and wont win here. If we had Chris mull in, Mitch Richmond, and Tim hardaway this run and gun system would be amazing to watch and we could win. Letting guys like amar and ellsion shoot whenever and when ever they want wont work. Ponds and Lovett should have the green light, but they need to take better shots. Bad shots lead to long rebounds which lead to easy baskets by the other team. What was the run 35-5? No timeouts, no in game coaching! Penn State struggles most games to score, not against us.
Did you see the game sunday? Which team looked better prepared to you?
How many times last year were we give up 50 points in the 1st half last year? How many times do you think we give it up 50 this year? Penn state could have scored 100. So could Delaware state. That is good coaching? That is a good game plan. That kind of team could win? Check out Delaware States record, I am sure they score close to a 100 every game.
The talent on this team is good enough for a respectable basketball season. Split the big 10. Win a game in the Bahamas. Beat the cupcakes. Win 4-6 games in conference. This team will fall far short of that. That is on the Coach.
We have 5 wins this year, do we get to 8? Is 8 wins acceptable to you? For 2 million? Why should he another chance? Does Penn state, providence, Marquette, and depaul have that much more talent then St. Johns? They are going to kill us!
Next year we fire the lowest coach on the staff and bring in a hasbeen to coach the team? Mullin is the head coach, but St. Jean should be fired? Or worse we keep the staff the same, should we expect a different outcome?
Next year we will have either a 4 or 5 star player at every position and plenty of 4 star players on the bench. What will be the excuse then?
