Not sure how people can blame this on the coaching. I actually am a fan of the style of play being attempted. We just have a roster of kids that probably don't belong in the big east, and our best player seems to have regressed significantly.

It's not all on coaching but there are certainly coaching deficiencies at play. My main criticism of Mullin was the lack of a coherent half court offense outside of the out-of-timeout plays that St Jean would draw up. Anderson is not much better in the coherent offense department.

This game's over. ASU's D looks better than last year's. Big teams are going to hurt us again. Really need Steere in there. Earlington can only do so much at 6'5 and he's doing his job.

Well we got embarrassed today instead of embarrassed tomorrow, even though UMass isn't as bad as originally thought so everything is still on the table tomorrow.

Anderson's scheme lends to the players moving on offense more than Mullin's system. They were stagnant off the ball last year. This year there's better movement even if there are some coaching deficiencies still I agree.

To start the game up 15-2, be up 9 at half and not even have a chance to win with 5 minutes left really is something

Here’s the problem they will defend and will hustle I appreciate that. I blame the administration, they screwed this up like always. The administration knew if they hired, Mike Anderson or Jones no one in bubble media would criticize that is truth! We never hire the right guy.

Agree they are moving more but a lot of that movement is just token exchanges that don't do anything. There is no continuity type action or sets that teams really have to defend.

Heron scores his first FG with 75 seconds left in  the game and a 14 pt hole. Priceless.

Yep. I don't see this team coming close to .500

As a hog fan i watched this tyoe stuff many times, i always made excuses thinking when had better players things would get much better, but Mikes teams were never top caliber at Arkansas an he never put together a complete team, he may  here , and if so could be hard to beat, but for now same as razorback yrs.

After the first five minutes ASU outscored SJ 74-49. That's all coaching baby! Thank goodness for CTC.

This--- they get up 15-2 and blow that lead in 3 minutes. Then get up 40-31 and blow that lead in 2 minutes. Cannot happen.

No offensive sets.

No adjustments.

No timeouts called.

Nothing in the post.

Bobby Hurley ran a clinic. Let that sink in.

Our defense looked good at times. I love the focus on offensive rebounding.  We have some serious athletes. Individually, I like many of our guys.

With that written, this is the worst I have ever seen our half court offense look in my 20 or so years as a fan.  No poster on this site, regardless of how much they love Anderson, can defend our half court offense.  It's street ball. I saw one set play all game. We got nothing inside-out whereas ASU seemed to get half of their points that way.

We were up 9 at the half and ended up getting run out of the gym by an NIT playing without it's third best scorer that just lost two players to the NBA on a day where we had 20 freaking offensive rebounds.  Hurley made the adjustments and took Anderson to the woodshed.  That is the second time Anderson has been thoroughly out-coached in his first seven games.

The writing is on the wall.  Under Anderson, we are going to be a team that relies on athletes and chaos to make it ugly and we will not be strong with skill, execution, or x's and o's.

This is the worst outcome possible given the construction of both rosters.  Norm Roberts could have coached this team to a 13-pt loss.

Good philosophy, weak Xs and Os.  That's what we can expect the entire time Anderson is here.  Can he get the athletes will be the question.

But, but, but Mullin was 8-24 in his first year!
