Pinkston, the top player in New York City, is considering Villanova, St. John’s, Seton Hall, Marquette and Tennessee.

Kimani Young of New Heights said that after the Seton Hall visit Pinkston will either decide to sign somewhere in the fall or wait until the spring.

Bwahaha, I'm sorry....is this even news? He's going to sign now or later, ya think?

I thought the same thing when I first read it but he has indicated in the past that he was planning on waiting until the spring.  This is just another indication he may make his decision in the early period.
When you're a kid from New York and you do it in New York, that lasts forever!

Is there any update on when Pinkston'll sign, since Zagoria was able to get Young to admit that Pinkston will either sign early or late? ;)

Based upon your article, it sounds like it will be an early decision for both Pinkston and Moore, one way or the other.

My mom is close to the Pinkstons......Jay will decide early and he will chose between Tenn and Villanova.....SJU is not an option at this point.

GOSH....it is truly unfathomable how this   coach strikes out on virtually every local top tier target....any real self respecting eye-of-the-tiger coach [ie franny] would shake up his staff at least but i guess they are all cruising in the comfort zone.....after 5+ years he still cannot establish any real connections?....well i guess maybe one or 2 years of borderline ncaa hopes before another abyss is all we few fans can expect..

Thanks for the heads up but this is typical for the staff. Strike out after strike out.

I know Jay(although not well at all) and know he isnt as into the process as some might think. He is relying a lot on others so I guess if somebody close gets his ear he might change but as of now he isnt coming. It's amazing as fans how into the recruiting process we are and then when you know the kids some of them chose schools for the craziest reasons and really dont know anything about them. SOme posters here closers to these kids can probably speak more about this.

Pinkston or not, St. John's needs a new AD and head men's basketball coach. Other programs have professionals and the Red Storm are still operating like this is a mom and pop business. It's just naive and an insult to the alumni, former players, and fans. You would think there are some people in the administration who believe in competition. The Vincentian way doesn't necessarily mean that the program and university have to be doormats to competitive schools.

exactly sleeveless....lou/mahoney and rutledge continue to exert undue influence on a crumbling program...monash seems to be a TOOL..they have a comfort zone while  the true fans seem to be the  incidental refuse

Ok -but both have ruled St. John's out long ago.  You'd rather hold the ship than sign Pinkston?

Sju needs to first put itself in a winner's circle of some kind.
When Norm first got here, there was the NCAA cloud over us.

Then it was injuries.

Now it looks like he can't coach.

They have to win. It's the only thing that can save his job.

Good analysis.  Right on.
