Nurideen Lindsey to transfer

We haven't recruited more than two top 100 kids in one class since Lopez/Hamilton. I'll take the growing pains. And in this case, I'm going to be bold enough to come right and say that I've watched enough bball to know that Lindsey has zero bball IQ. He's a street baller. In addition to that, he's a child, a loser and a flake.

There are questions as to where he'll wind up. The answer is nowhere.

I kept relatively quiet through the first (4) defections, BUT ENOUGH IS ENOUGHY ALREADY!  This is certainly not good and it better start changing direction FAST.

Was just thinking the same.  Got season tickets for the first time in several years since I lost them and we are potentially looking out many blowouts at the garden this year.  Don't get me wrong, I love this program, that's why getting whipped by the Syracuses and Yukons of the world makes me ill.

Oh well that's the way the cookie crumbles, but I really wish we could rid ourselves of this dark cloud over the program.

Look, I have been know to be as negative as they come, but in this case, I have to disagree with Mr. IllWill on this one.  Lavin came in last year and took a losing mentality and turned it into a winner overnight. Does he not deserve some slack for that alone? In terms of Lavin putting us in a bad situation, that one is on Norm Roberts.  Lavin had to bring in an entire team from what that non coach left us.  Maybe he did take a chance on a few kids but he had to.  He was trying to bring in the best talent available and worked his butt off doing it. If he was bringing in Norm level talent, we would all be bitching about that. The poor guy was in a no win situation.  We are not in a position yet to bring in Duke type players at t his point.

If there is one area that I can't condem Lavin it is in his creating effort.  He'll, the guy was sick, he needs some slack here.

We backed away from Jevon for a few reasons.  didnt lose him.  Garrett is not lost, he's joining next week.  Sampson, Gathers and Pelle are not lost just yet.  Some will likely be 2012. 

Evans graduated last year.  Get over it.

I always thought Dunlap's people skills were suspect until he came out with that line about wanting Sean Evans with him in a dark alley and improving that whole situation.  Then again I never figured out who had the cockamamie idea that Sean couldn't play to begin with.  I suspect Dunlap had something to do with that too but I guess we'll never know.  Too bad he didn't have a catchy line for Nuri too.  I don't think it did either one of their careers any good.  I doubt it would have happened had Lav been healthy.  Well I sure hope Dunlap has enough smarts to keep his mouth shut for the rest of this crumby season at this point because one more defection should cost him his job too.  Time to start playing the walkons just in case.

Garrett is not lost, he's joining next week.

Anyone who's ever managed an understaffed operation knows you have to change your approach.  That's a time to rally your team and try to have everyone rise to the occasion.  Yeah you might have to put up with some bitching but the bottom line is that the job has to get done.  I certainly hope Dunlap realizes this and alters his approach accordingly.  We are at the brink of disaster here and losing Nuri should have been avoided at almost any cost.  I don't pretend to know the facts but I would sure hate to hear that this BS was no more that a case of ruffled feathers.  Even Tom Coughlin let Bradshaw back in for the second half Sunday.  His only reaction was "principles." And the results spoke for themselves.  Bottom line is that the team is what matters most.  Not egos etc.  To be continued?  I hope not!

I don't want to stray off topic, but .... 
I can't argue with the ring, definitely has won a SB.  Respected, that's opinion.  What I guess my gut reaction was about is that I recall a players poll, where he was voted the #1 Coach in the NFL that players would NOT like to play for.  And since Lavin is a coach who is constantly being discussed as a coach they DID want to play for, I thought it was overboard or even silly.

But perhaps it is Dunlap, who is the Coughlin of the team.  But once again, it's been said that Lavin is at practice, just not coaching the games.

Either he was nuts or something nutty happened.  I'd like to know.

  Nuri has people telling him he's better than he is.  He figured he step in here with a sick class of freshman, be the main man, Average about 20 ppg and then be a lottery pick.  It became obvious that his path was going to have a few more bumps than he or TeamLeem imagined, so they took the easy path, and quit.   End of Story.  IMO, Never to be heard from again....

I think most people have an idea what took place.  Lindsey didn't quite look himself the past few games (especially, his last two games).  He looked so out of sorts against Detroit that Moose facetiously stated (paraphrased), "It looked like Lindsey is point-shaving."

Lindsey seems like someone who also has to dominate the ball.  He has to have the ball in his hands, in order to be effective.  He doesn't seem like one who can be effective off-the-ball.  Don't get me wrong....  His game has some shortcomings, but I loved his strengths.  I wished he would've stayed, as I believe he would've helped us as the season progressed.  Unfortunately, his strengths are also one of his weaknesses.  He can get to the hole; has great body control and usually, finished.  But, it also got him into trouble with offensive fouls; throwing the ball away; and missing guys who had gotten open due to his driving ability. 

It seemed like he wanted to do his "own thing" or "get mine at all cost."  Not to mention, he seems to have some folks in his ear.  When you combine that scenario, to go along with stern coaching and teams taking away his strength in the halfcourt, then you have a frustrated player.  If he was gonna be a bad locker room presence then his transfer could be the best thing in the long run.

This is 1000% the case. Chad Ford did us no favor thinking this kid was good enough to jump from JUCO to the NBA.
