The best guards that have come to St Johns have been local guys

What does that have to do with the price of tea in China?

We need some tough guards to compete.not guys that leave because someone yelled at him.

Baldi has a point. Recruiting kids like Tyler Wilson of Hayes to man the point may make sense. I just saw this kid play and he impresses as that heady, tough NY player, who will contribute. JPM likes him a lot. He is a bit undersized, but, like a Chutney Gray, can be a 4 year positive player.

Chud the Stud was 6'2. For all the crap Jarvis took for being a lousy recruiter, her turned Gray into one of the best players in the league by his senior year.

When did Chudney even start for us?   ... He didn't from what I can recall.

First of all, his only point was to do what he does best....  Stoke the fire.  Secondly, no one ever said, we shouldn't go after the "city" players.  But, cutting off the nose to spite the face because of what happened with Lindsey is ludicrous.

Jackson-Cartwright is a kid who continues to get rave reviews, and I'll have no problem if he were to land in Queens.  If the staff feels Jackson-Cartwright is the best fit and/or player for what they are attempting to accomplish, then so be it.  I'll say the same for Whitehead, as well.

He started some games when Barkley had issues with the NCAA.  I liked Chudney during his senior season, as he played fairly well.  I also didn't think he was one of the better players in the Big East

I understand that Gray's numbers weren't earth shattering, but you have to remember that he played with Lavor Postell, Bootsy Thornton, Erick Barkley. Was he as good as those guys? No. You put Chudney Gray on SJ, the next year, where Omar Cook ran the offense, and let Gray take 15-17 shots per game, he'd be an all league player. On our stacked team, he was a role player.

Unfortunately, as a freshman he was stuck on the bench for no good reason.

He got more minutes than I remember.   I also remember Barkley being hurt for a few games that season, or was that just the NCAA issues?
Regardless, you're probably right - put Chud on the 2000 team and he could've been a 15 point a game scorer.   All Big East?  eh.  But possible I guess.

I meant if Chudney was on the '01 team.    If your asking the question than I assume it wasn't Barkley Bootsey Postel Jessie and Glover.  I'm guessing Gray started the second half?
