i am still embarrassed that the bigeast website  is still not up yet.

I see Georgetown being most likely matched up with Villanova but if it's not nova it's definitely st. John's those are the only 2 options as I see it. I could see St. John's v. Seton Hall or St. John's v. Providence which I like better. Third possibility would be St. John's v. Xavier.

What I'm thinking/hoping.

A little commentary on OCS opponent Wisconsin's trip to Canada;

2. Wisconsin: Coach Bo Ryan said he realized "Canadian basketball is much better than people realized, better than it's been.'' He said the Badgers learned how to play with more tempo and movement. The freshmen picked up the drills and the style in which the Badgers will play. He said the management of Josh Gasser's minutes was critical, since the point guard who sat out last season with a torn ACL must be ready to go for the start of the season. Gasser will share the position with Traevon Jackson. "Josh is still tentative and that's to be understood. He's not quite there yet,'' said Ryan. "But he shot it pretty well. This trip gave him a chance to do a lot of shooting.'' Ryan said the Badgers showed they have more depth on the perimeter. He said working with a 24-second shot clock was beneficial to handle late-game situations. The Badgers definitely played to the fast-paced game, giving up 95 points in a loss to Carleton to start the trip and 92 in a win over Ottawa. Expect those defensive scoring numbers to be much lower once the Badgers get into the season with a traditional 35-second shot clock. Wisconsin has to get the defensive numbers down with a brutal nonconference schedule with games against St. John's in South Dakota, Florida, at Green Bay, Saint Louis (and then ODU or West Virginia) in Cancun, at Virginia and Marquette. The Badgers did get a Big Ten "break" with three of the first five conference games at home.

It might be STJ vs GTown whether we deserve it or not just because we're in NY.

coach saying don't put much stock in HS rankings bodes well for a good recruiting year as he seems to be saying don't worry that we have missed out on many high ranked recruits as the kids we are involved with and may sign might not be highly ranked but are good players. Nice to hear cause if we stay good for couple of years we may be able to get some real highly rated kids in 2015 ie. Chuck Diallo.

STJ/Georgetown, there's a history. Can you explain your other choices? They seem entirely arbitrary.

And for good reason: They are. I thought Creighton/Marquette and Xavier/Villanova would be good games based on traditional style of play, then lumped the other four together.

I think in order to have a real rivalry you need proximity and relevance. GTown and Nova come to mind obviously, but we need to earn that place. They have. We clearly have not. Seton Hall deserves no rival. They are a disgrace.

Nova lost Pitt, an in-state rival.  We have a great history with G'town.  Other than them, I don't see any other great rival for us.  If you pair Nova with G'town, that leaves us the Hall.  PC is really lost anyway you look at it.

I think over the next few years rivalries will naturally develop.  Marquette and Depaul would be great, based on geographic proximity, if they weren't worlds apart basketball-wise.

I actually think we have a nice rivalry brewing with  Providence.  We are both northeast teams, and Providence is really coming on with Cooley.  They will be looking to supplant UConn in their region and Cooley is one of those coaches that I think can be a guy we love to hate. 

DePaul needs something new.  They need a Midwest coach that can recruit and has a different system.  I'm not seeing Purnell getting it done, even though I know it is a tough rebuild.
