And you think Stan Heath and John Pelphrey did better than Anderson? Wow
I didn’t make that claim. Heath and Pelphrey are awful basketball coaches yet they still danced at Arkansas. Eddie Sutton and Nolan Richardson were terrific. Mike Anderson is somewhere in the middle, albeit probably slightly closer to Pelphrey and Heath.
But middle isn’t good enough for the double-digit IQ group I have recently labeled “The Squad.”
You see, idiots need to reduce everything down to dichotomies. I’ll save you the google search...they need everything broken down to great or awful, black or white, etc.
St. John’s is a coaching graveyard. We destroy coaches.
You think Anderson had an impressive career? Look at Mike Jarvis! Like Anderson he never had a losing season. Between 1990 and 2000 he made 7 NCAA tournaments, he won titles in 3 leagues, led all three teams he coached to the NCAA tournament, he led two teams to the Sweet 16, led St. John’s to the Elite Eight and one shot from the Final Four, and made 3 NITs.
We fired that guy less than 4 years later and we were chanting for him to be fired two years after he won the Big East. His second to last season he made the NCAA tournament and signed a McDonald’s All-American with a recruiting budget so low he picked up recruits in a station wagon. The year prior to being fired he made and f*cking won the NIT. He was fired 6 games later.
Our fanbase is a special kind of delusional.
