Dunn and Posh together would scare me with that 3/4/5. With those two drivers would want Cole (fingers crossed on LJ) as the 3.

I don’t think Champaigne is incapable of playing the 3 some next year and more so as he gets older, just think we have 4-5 other options for minutes at the 3 in our uptempo style for this season.

Toro or someone similar would be perfect. Just saying we only have 15-20 minutes to offer the 5 spot unless we figure Roberts gets completely benched.

If the shooting gets better I could see that lineup working. It’s still pretty fast even with Champ at the three.

Our best lineups will have Cole at the three.

On the surface Toro looks like a great fit. 2.9 offensive boards in 18.6 minutes this past year. Four years at an A-10 school averaging over 20 mpg for his career. Skilled finishing in transition for a big man—he’ll get plenty of chances next season. 6’8 248 is a house.

No clue how he plays defense or bodies up in the paint, though. His rebounding #s suggest he does fine in that area. I don’t mind our front court to be honest. Would still like to see one 6’10+ center though...even if it’s for just 10 mpg.

Kid seems like a good fit for what we need. Obviously battled injuries the past few years. Also seems to be a reason Marfo transferred out which is promising in and of itself.

6'8 250 big body, good rebounder. Solid add. I doubt we get another 6'10 guy at this point after adding Toro but yeah that would be gravy.

Wow, nice addition. Let’s roll out the basketballs!

Toro's name popped up a few days ago (I think), but it is interesting with this staff how they play stuff closer to vest.  I guess none of the assistants that much about publicly increasing their own profile, using that to establish their "worth" and getting credit vis-a-vis other assistants.

Quote out of HS, a very good culture addition which is just as important in Year2:

“He’s the ultimate teammate,” City Rocks director Jim Hart said. “Any coach is going to love him. He’s a warrior on the boards, brings his lunch pail every day. His upside is great because he has a high basketball IQ and such a natural nose for the ball.

Not a glamorous addition, but it seems like we've needed to add a guy like this every year for a decade.  A big body that can come in for 10-20 mins and grab some boards.  Plus he has proven that he can rebound at the a-10 level, which i think bodes well for him doing the same here.  He may be the 8th man, but I could see him having a positive impact in the justin burrell role, averaging 6 and 5 over 20mpg.  Guys like that are needed to make the tourney.

Brazilier predicts that LJ will be back 80/20. So we have the same exact team next year Toro= Steere and Sears PT, and then 4 new incoming faces which is all gravy at the bonus we get from them, 3 which will be immediate impact Posh/Cole/Moore, anybody give me any info on Wusu, don’t know much about him.

Really really hope Toro will be fully healthy by the time the season starts. Looking at the numbers he hasn't been the same player since the injury.

That said, in limited minutes this past season he was top 15 in the country in defensive rebound % and top 5 in offensive rebounding %. His floor is still a MAJOR upgrade over Sears and he has the upside to be a real key piece to this team next year.

Another not super flashy but workmanlike pickup by the staff. We've been needing a player like this for years. He'll provide the bulk while Roberts will provide the pure athleticism.

Major upgrade over Sears I’m not sure about. Hope so, but he played on such a terrible team that I don’t know what we can take away from his stats.

Why would Richmond care if he grabs some boards if they’re up 30?

Can he move? CFC and his system value mobility above all else.

At any rate, he will see minutes in our 10 man rotation.

Huh? Sears was completely terrible. Toro was close to being a double-double player in his Sophomore season. Sears wouldn't be a double-double player in D2

He played on a good team his freshman season and put up decent stats.  GW won 20 games and was 10-8 in a competitive A-10 that year.  They slowly got worse.

I think he's at least one standard deviation better than Sears and I was one of his bigger fans since he signed.  Toro seems a little more rugged and a lot less stiff. There are a lot of easy points to be had in Anderson's style for big men that can score on the move off or rebounding in transition.

He's not a stud, but he seems very capable of playing  25 minutes at this level if he's healthy.

Ok, I see that he put up better numbers in 18-19 before getting hurt. He’s probably better, but he’s also had the opportunity to play. I can’t say that Sears would be a consistent BE player if he got the minutes, but he really didn’t get the chance to get used to the game.

Still, we didn’t have many quality wins this year, and without him, Arizona beats us.

He’ll probably go to a lower level school. I think he’d be good for a program like Hofstra. Maybe he will go D2, and we’ll see what he does.

He will be a perfect 15-25 minute guy for our team depending on the flow of the game....I also agree that he is def a step above sears...and I liked sears...

Drake's 7'0" C Liam Robbins has entered the transfer portal.

14.1 PPG/7.1 RPG/2.9 BPG. All-MVC 2nd team, 5th in the nation in blocks.

May not help this year (sit?) but size.
