Spoke with a real good inside source today. Thoughts were you either take Lawrence or mcCullough but you can't have both. Also said Lawrence has a handler who's not very easy to deal with and the camp believes he's 1 and done, staff thinks otherwise. Also or Sonoma state scrimmage didn't help us as well as our added affection for Lawrence as of law in comparison to syracuse's mauling in the exhibition yesterday and Boheim turning on the broiler with Chris lately.

The handler is not as involved as she was earlier in the summer.  More family driven.

If we land Lawrence, losing McCullough is inconsequential for our purposes.  He's our main target at forward.  Hopefully this gets done for SJU.

I had a chance to sleep on this, the shock has worn off, this still stings alot. On the other hand, Cuse is an established great program with great players being added on a yearly basis. I hate them but it's reality. Lets hope we add lawrence, have a great year and it really does great things for our 2014 class.

Just hoping that this loss of Chris gets us out to show much love to Jordan and Lawrence to get them signed.     

Can anyone elaborate on the specifics of what problems the Brewster coach has with Lavin, our staff and/or the Johnnies program?  PM me if you don't want it posted to the whole board.

KY got 4 top 25 guys in 2011 as well.  Hasn't had less than 3 top 25's since '08 (using scout rankings FYI, easiest to manage).

He was a St. John's lock. He would have committed way early to Red Storm. Orange did a good job of developing a relationship with people who turned out to have most influence over Chris. I'm a little surprised but can't go wrong with choosing Orange. Proven track record. Will be very interesting if Boeheim pulls a Calhoun what will happen.

If he already plans on being one and done, JB leaving before he gets there may not affect his decision. It might have if there was a bigger gap in years and Hopkins ran the program into the ground before McCullough gets there, but that won't be the case.

Seems as if we misread what needed to be done to successfully win this battle. It does happen to everyone as each kid is different so you can't have a recruiting philosophy and just treat everyone the same ie. high pressure tactics vs laid back approach.

The brakes on approach backfired here.  Not all kids will like the fact your not hounding them.  And I think the focus on Lawrence and Jordan had an impact on Chris.  Still disappointing but still two elite Top 30 guys on the board for next year.
